The Tango district faces the Sea of Japan and is a region of natural scenery that retains the flavor of ancient Japan. This natural environment and climate is necessary for textile production and the temperament of the residents is passed on from generation to generation. TAMIYA RADEN is based on inspiration from nature and techniques cultivated in a background of history and tradition. We pursue the creation of all new fabrics with a convergence of natural materials such as silk, sea shells, lacquer, wood and leather.　　　　　　　　　　　The fabric in the photograph is crafted with leather as the weft and silk as the warp, creating a material with a distinct dedication to quality. Due to the inability to mass produce and the commitment to the highest quality from raw materials to weaving, the price is quite high. Kyoto Tango, so to speak, is the largest silk fabric production area in Japan and we are a company with a history 150 years in Kyoto Tango production area represented by kimono. 1886 We started textile business. Our company is located in east side of the Biwa Lake which is the largest lake in Japan. This area, Koto, has developed as the only linen and flax fabric production area in this nation. We’ve stuck to weaving from raw materials and developed fabrics by Japanese craftmanship. We produce fabrics not only for fashion but also for night clothes and decorative bedding. We’ve exhibited at Milano Unica and are accustomed to overseas sales.

We started finishing of “Ohmi Johfu” in 1887.Beginning with bleach and dyeing of cotton, linen, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics, we are general textile processing mill for special texture, special shape finish, “Ohmi Chijimi”, processing kimono fabrics, bed fabrics and industrial fabrics. We believe that adding value to special Japanese materials rich in high quality leads to development of textile world. And we continue dispatch the materials to the world.

At Shibata Textiles, a company that plans, designs, manufactures, and sells Tango chirimen sewn-take woven fabrics (dyed fabrics with patterns woven into silk base using lamé and colored threads) in Kyoto, we not only wholesale fabrics but also sell luxurious original products made with Tango chirimen. The fabric width is 40 cm, and the length can be customized according to customer requests, allowing for the production of unique, tailor-made items. Our main focus is on the development of kimono tomesode, but we can also produce visiting kimonos, tsukesage, komon, plain colored kimonos, juban, and hakkake.

The four wooden buildings with sawtooth roofs, covered with tiles, were constructed over 70 years ago. Initially, the company produced specialized textiles using advanced techniques, combining border and hogushi weaving with silk as the main material to create jacquard, taffeta, and heavy satin fabrics. These fabrics were used as linings for high-end fur in Europe and the United States, leading to business expansion. Building on this legacy, the company now offers a wide range of distinctive textiles made from various materials. Despite the rapidly changing fashion trends, the company maintains an array of looms suitable for diverse applications, catering to small-lot orders for cut jacquard with meticulous attention.

Morikiku, established in 1897 during the Meiji era, is a comprehensive textile trading company. Its headquarters is located in the scenic city of Gamagori, Aichi Prefecture, surrounded by mountains on three sides and overlooking Mikawa Bay. This region, once known as Mikawa Province, is also reputed to be the site where cotton was first introduced to Japan. We are a professional group specialized in natural fiber textiles. For example, when consulted about materials for work clothes worn at construction sites during summer, we propose materials with optimal functions, weight, and durability, and shape these textiles according to customer requests. We can also analyze and replicate textiles from fragments. Our team is skilled in identifying the true nature of threads, anticipating textile design, and applying appropriate processing to create fabrics. Every one of us possesses this knowledge and expertise. In 2018, we launched a fabric brand specialized in sustainable materials with minimal environmental impact, named "NATURE & SONS®." Additionally, we handle Mikawa cotton, a traditional local textile, and are actively expanding overseas. While preserving our history and tradition, we are committed to manufacturing that connects broadly to the future.

In 2015, I moved to Tango with a desire to create my own original fabrics. The beautiful nature, delicious food, and jewel-like textiles, as well as the endlessly kind people, completely captivated me. 'I want more people to know about the treasure that is Tango!' With this thought driving me, I found that nine years had passed in the blink of an eye. When I opened my own factory, hundreds of supporters gathered, including colleagues who felt like family, and I realized how much I was supported by this warm community. My goal is to share my beloved Tango with many people. Through textiles, writing, and the factory, I want to work together with everyone to carve out a bright future for Tango.

Yamazaki Textile is located in Hamamatsu City in Shizuoka, and the Enshu production area has been known as one of the leading cotton production areas since the Edo period. Since our establishment in 1967, we have been more than 160 types of greige fabrics in stock constantly, focusing on fine count high-density products and hard-twisted fabrics that other companies do not handle.
