1886 We started textile business. Our company is located in east side of the Biwa Lake which is the largest lake in Japan. This area, Koto, has developed as the only linen and flax fabric production area in this nation. We’ve stuck to weaving from raw materials and developed fabrics by Japanese craftmanship. We produce fabrics not only for fashion but also for night clothes and decorative bedding. We’ve exhibited at Milano Unica and are accustomed to overseas sales.

We started finishing of “Ohmi Johfu” in 1887.Beginning with bleach and dyeing of cotton, linen, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics, we are general textile processing mill for special texture, special shape finish, “Ohmi Chijimi”, processing kimono fabrics, bed fabrics and industrial fabrics. We believe that adding value to special Japanese materials rich in high quality leads to development of textile world. And we continue dispatch the materials to the world.

Morikiku, established in 1897 during the Meiji era, is a comprehensive textile trading company. Its headquarters is located in the scenic city of Gamagori, Aichi Prefecture, surrounded by mountains on three sides and overlooking Mikawa Bay. This region, once known as Mikawa Province, is also reputed to be the site where cotton was first introduced to Japan. We are a professional group specialized in natural fiber textiles. For example, when consulted about materials for work clothes worn at construction sites during summer, we propose materials with optimal functions, weight, and durability, and shape these textiles according to customer requests. We can also analyze and replicate textiles from fragments. Our team is skilled in identifying the true nature of threads, anticipating textile design, and applying appropriate processing to create fabrics. Every one of us possesses this knowledge and expertise. In 2018, we launched a fabric brand specialized in sustainable materials with minimal environmental impact, named "NATURE & SONS®." The technique called "Sakiori" breathes new life into discarded fabrics. In this method, fabrics are thinly cut and repurposed to create new material. This sustainable process is so meticulous that only about 10 meters can be produced in a day. As we utilize discarded fabric, there's no large quantity of the same design available.
