Story

The four wooden buildings with sawtooth roofs, covered with tiles, were constructed over 70 years ago. Initially, the company produced specialized textiles using advanced techniques, combining border and hogushi weaving with silk as the main material to create jacquard, taffeta, and heavy satin fabrics. These fabrics were used as linings for high-end fur in Europe and the United States, leading to business expansion. Building on this legacy, the company now offers a wide range of distinctive textiles made from various materials. Despite the rapidly changing fashion trends, the company maintains an array of looms suitable for diverse applications, catering to small-lot orders for cut jacquard with meticulous attention.

"We want to perfect the inherent charm of jacquard weaving by preserving the handcrafted nuances that cannot be expressed in mass production," says Akira Ushino, the president who also serves as the chairman of the Kiryu Textile Cooperative Association. He emphasizes that the key to high-quality production is the trust between people, ensuring that sales representatives learn about weaving techniques in the factory to communicate flexibly with clients. The company is always ready to quickly develop prototypes upon request, maintaining its position as a leading textile manufacturer in Kiryu, both historically and in the present.
