“Uniecolo” is recycled fiber from PET bottles, “Terramac” is PLA fiber made from corns and sugar canes and “CASTLON” is fiber made from non-edible plants. Thus, we have strengthened initiatives for global environment-friendly fibers.
/History of Unitika
Unitika Group started in 1889 as Amagasaki Spinning, which was historical and memorial first step for Japanese spinning history. It had supported Japanese textile industry since 1918 as Dainippon Spinning which was regarded as one of the three largest spinning companies. Unitika was stemmed from Dainippon Spinning’s acquisition with Nippon Rayon in 1969.
Current Unitika promotes dynamic activities in cooperation with various group enterprises, starting with textile business. It keeps evolving for the future, making full use of accumulated assets of entire group.
